Let’s be honest, you can’t beat a cheeky takeaway! There is potentially nothing better than sitting back on a Friday night, Netflix on, feet up, awaiting a chow mein. However, if you have a food requirement or are trying to be a little more healthy and thrifty, takeaways aren’t the best option. Enter, the fakeaway.

Here are some of the best vegan fakeaway products out there. You may see a fakeaway as a challenge, however, you may want your fakeaway to be as easy and quick as possible. This list is all about trying to

Simple Products for Low Effort Fakeaways

1. M&S Plant Kitchen No Chicken Southern Fried Tenders

M&S are consistently great at 2 things: offering high-quality diet diverse food and producing tasty ready meals for when you fancy a treat. So it’s really no surprise that they offer amazing vegan fakeaway options. These are great either on their own or in a ketchup-slathered bun. If you fancy something with a bit more jazz, try their BBQ wings.

2. Whole Creation Breaded Sheesy Sticks

  • Vegan
  • Vegetarian
  • Gluten Free

This is potentially more of a side than a whole takeaway but you really can’t go wrong with mozzarella sticks. Try with a vegan Sauce Shop relish or sauce (my personal favorite is their siracha hot sauce) for a bit of extra kick!

3. Pizza Express Classic Vegan Giardiniera

  • Vegan
  • Vegetarian

This spinach, artichoke and mushroom pizza is seriously tasty and a heck of a lot more exciting than a pizza marinara, the usual choice for vegans. It’s seeded sourdough base is nice and chewy but is definitely thicker than some people like so be warned!

A little more effort required…

4. Vivera Greek-Style Kebab

  • Vegan
  • Vegetarian
  • Source of iron & B12
Vivera Plant Greek Kebab 175g

Something a bit different, Vivera offers a wide range of soya-based meat alternatives, their crown jewel, the vegetarian kebab ‘meat.’ Admittedly, this one requires a little more effort than oven-cooked fried chicken but it’s worth it. If you’re bored of vegetarian sausages or burgers, this product is exciting, tasty, and a healthy alternative to your average chip-shop kebab.

5. Linda McCartney’s Hoisin Duck Meal Kit

  • Vegan
  • Vegetarian
Linda McCartney Fakeaway duck

Do not walk, run to go and try this kit. The soya and wheat protein duck is so meaty, you’ll have to remind yourself it’s not real! This only takes just 5 minutes to prepare, however, it is cooked on the hob so if you can’t even look at a frying pan, it may not be the option for you.
