New Year’s Eve is all about spending the last few hours of the year with people you love, drinking, chatting, and (most importantly) eating!! Some people have a quiet one with their families, others pull on their glad rags and host a big old party. However, you choose to count down your final hours of 2021, it certainly wouldn’t hurt to have a few tasty canapes and snacks that everyone will enjoy! It’s safe to say that getting a big group of people together can be tricky, especially when it comes to food. Party food is always a crowd-pleaser, so, to make it a little easier, here are 5 vegan finger food recipes that are easy and will keep everyone satisfied until big ben strikes!

Cauliflower wings have really grown in popularity over the past few years and with good reason! They’re quick, can be prepped in advance and you can switch up the hot sauce to suit your preference. Our personal favourite vegan hot sauces are Cholula and Frank’s RedHot Buffalo sauce, if you really want to change it up you could also try a BBQ sauce.

2. Crispy Garlic Breaded Mushrooms

This recipe by Cupful Of Kale can turn even the biggest mushroom hater! These may look complicated but they’re really not and that is why they’re so great! Plus, if you don’t fancy being in the kitchen while you’re hosting, you can always fry them before everyone arrives and then gently warm them for whenever you need them.

This french onion dip by Simple Veganista is unbelievably simple and can be done in advance of your New Year gatherings and parties. Swap regular sour cream for whichever vegan sour cream you like and it tastes the same as regular french onion dip!

Let’s be honest Good Food can be a little hit and miss when it comes to vegan recipes, however, they very much got this one right! Perhaps not the most authentic bhajis but very tasty and perfect for a group of people. For the raita, simply swap to plant-based yoghurt (we used Alpro).

Last but certainly not least, Karissa’s Vegan Kitchen brownies! What celebration would be complete without a sweet treat? These seriously fudgy brownies are the perfect way to send off 2021 and say a big hello to 2022!
