Vegan BBQ Options

What better way to celebrate the start of summer than a BBQ? Not too long ago, vegan BBQ-ers would have to tuck into a burnt bean burger that had inevitably been forgotten in amongst the meat-heavy feast. Not anymore! There is now a huge variety of vegan BBQ options in the supermarket, so let’s get into it…

Vegan Burgers

1. Beyond Burger

Beyond Meat Plant-Based Burger

I know, I know I plug this burger at almost every given opportunity but it’s because it genuinely lives up to the hype. Not only is it vegan, but it’s also gluten and soy free. This makes it the perfect all-rounder for a diverse BBQ.

2. Moving Mountains 1/4 LB Burgers

Moving Mountains 1/4lb Plant-Based Burgers 2x113.5g

The Moving Mountains burger was originally exclusively available to restaurants and chefs around the country which pretty much says it all! The company’s mission is to create long-lasting change by developing plant-based meats that are tasty and eco-friendly.

3. Quorn Vegan Hot & Spicy Burgers

These spicy and crispy burgers are perfect if you fancy something that packs a bit of a punch. Try it with guacamole and vegan coleslaw! They’re high in protein and are soy-free.

Vegan Skewers

1. Wicked Kitchen Skewers

Wicked Kitchen 4 Chilli & Lime Kebabs 350G - Tesco Groceries

Available in both garlic and herb and chilli and lime, these are perfect for a vegan BBQ. As with any food, personal taste does matter and these do have mixed reviews but I love them. They’re great in a wrap or just with a fruity salad!

2. Cauldron Smokey BBQ Tofu

Cauldron Smoky BBQ Tofu

If you’re not a massive fan of the burgers and bites, this smokey tofu could be right up your street. Marinated for you, it takes the hassle out of food preparation and grills well on a BBQ.

BBQ Bangers

1. Richmond Meat Free Sausages

Richmond Meat Free Vegan Sausages x8 336g

Richmond has been around for over 100 years but never would I have put them down as making a decent vegan sausage… I was wrong! These sausages are succulent, flavourful and can handle the heat of a BBQ!

2. M&S Plant Kitchen Chorizo Puppies

I used to be a huge fan of the Wicked Chorizo-style Bangers but they’ve had a recipe change and just aren’t the same. So, I had to go on a quest to find a spicy vegan sausage that satisfied my chorizo cravings, this was it. These little sausages are packed full of flavour, an honest must at your next vegan BBQ.
